Foster home needed
🚨URGENT APPEAL: Foster Home Needed for Squeaks & Roscoe

Squeaks and Roscoe are 3-year-old siblings in desperate need of a hero. These bonded ginger tabbies have been through one heartbreaking obstacle after another together since they first arrived at HART as tiny kittens three years ago. Tiny Squeaks faced a myriad of health challenges as a young kitten—intestinal tract infection, Calicivirus, and skin and eye infections - with her devoted brother Roscoe by her side every step of the way. Despite Squeaks' rough start, she and her brother Roscoe finally found a home together.

Unfortunately, life took another unexpected turn, and after only 1.5 years, they were returned to HART. Sadly, Squeaks is again experiencing some health issues that HART is working with her vets to figure out. She has quite a bit of arthritis for a three-year-old, leaving her in a rigid crouched position and struggling with incontinence. She needs a loving family who can give her the support she needs to help her feel her best. Meanwhile, Roscoe recently underwent the ordeal of having 19 teeth removed due to Stomatitis. Roscoe is feeling much better, but Squeaks continues to struggle, despite her medical team's best efforts.

Squeaks and Roscoe have been living in a wonderful foster home, but have recently faced another upheaval and have returned to the HART as their foster parent prepares to relocate out of state. They urgently need a new home, ideally one resembling their previous haven. A warm sunroom with its tiled floor was perfect for Squeaks' & Roscoe's needs, providing both comfort and ease of cleanup, as well as a place to play, lounge in the sun, and birdwatch.
If you know anyone with a big heart and the ideal situation for these resilient felines, please share their story. Squeaks and Roscoe deserve love and stability after all they've been through. Contact HART at (805) 927-7377 or even better, come meet this wonderful pair in person. Your kindness could change their lives forever.

April adoptions 2024
We have wonderful news that will put SPRING in your step! 15 HART cats were Adopted in April! Thank you to the families who opened their hearts and homes to these wonderful fur-babies. We are so excited that these wonderful felines found their fur-ever homes.

We are especially thrilled to share that our 6 bonded brothers - Atticus, Ronan, Butch, Prince, Raven, and Patches - were adopted together as a FAMILY. Thank you to the wonderful family who agreed to give them a loving home so we didn't need to split them up.
In addition, we are very excited that 6 senior kitizens found loving homes this month, including a bonded pair of seniors, Velvet and Jack, and our two April Cats of the Month, Mandy and Max (who is 18 years old!)

Special thank you to those of you who helped spread the word about our cats by telling your friends and sharing our social media so that our cats and kittens are able to be seen by their future families.

 KITTEN FOSTERS NEEDED

Kitten season is rampant from Spring to Fall, and HART needs fosters who can help us save these vulnerable lives. Kitten fosters provide care and support to kittens until they are old enough to thrive on their own and be adopted.

Unfortunately, there are always more kittens and cats in need than fosters available to help them. You can make a huge impact by fostering these vulnerable animals, for a couple of weeks or more, and helping to spread the word about your experience to other potential foster parents.

HART provides all the food, supplies, veterinary care and support. All you need to provide is a warm home and plenty of TLC!

Thank You for Coming to Cambria Hospitality Night
Photos with Santa Paws benefiting HART!

We had a wonderful time at Cambria Hospitality Night! Thank you to those of you who came out and supported HART by taking photos with Santa Paws. Thanks to Cambria Rotary Club for sharing the space with us, and to Cambria Mimosas for being an amazing host!

We had dogs, kids, and families stop by for photos and goodies. Our biggest surprise came when a python, a gecko, a rabbit, and a BAT STAR all came to get their holiday photos with Santa too - thanks to the fun people at Camp Ocean Pines!

We have wonderful MEWS to share! Moonstone Cellars recently presented HART with a $1,500 check, happily received by HART representative, Carol Jean. This money was raised from donations from musicians and guests at Open Mic Nights and Moonstone Memories storytelling events that took place at Moonstone Cellars from June through September, plus, GENEROUS MATCHING GIFTS from Moonstone Cellars. We are beyond thankful to Moonstone Cellars and their supporters for this wonderful gift. This will go a long way towards helping us rescue, care for, and rehome cats in need.
Thank you neighbors!

Thank you Neighbors!

Thank you our wonderful neighbors for "faving" HART's Nexdoor page  during Nextdoor's Neighborhood Faves Contest. We are excited to be one of the winning businesses, and we are honored to be one of your "faves!"  Having the status of "Neighborhood Fave" will increase our visibility in Cambria, which means increased visibility for our cats and kittens who need homes.  If you haven't faved our Nexdoor page yet, we welcome you to do so.  Thank you neighbors - we appreciate YOU!

The Library Cat Cafe was a Success!

Unnamed
Thank you for attending the CAT CAFE hosted by the Cambria Public Library! We were excited to hold a "meet & greet" with some of HART's tiniest residents. Visitors were able to meet Dr. Penny Fiser, DVM and volunteer, Dawn Ellner, and learn about our shelter cats.  The "Kitty Ditty HART Band" was attracting visitors outside, while library staff handed out information, refreshments, and cat toymaking kits.

Thank you to the County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries for hosting this event!
