Provide complete list with pictures of
all animals currently impounded at our county pound. This list is updated twice weekly and
posted on our website to get as much exposure as possible for these "out-of-sight,
out-of-mind" animals who face euthanasia every day. We put together a fax list of
over 60 numbers of veterinarians, feed stores and other pet related businesses who receive
this list weekly and in return post it in their stores for all to see. We feel this
is a valuable tool for people who have lost their pet or are looking to adopt one. |
 |
Maintain a computerized pet registry
of all HART adoptions and to those who wish to ID their pets for lost and found reasons. |

Participate in community fundraisers
such as Cambria's Pinedorado and Morro Bay's Harbor Festival. |
 |
Provide free feral mousers to
responsible ranchers who request them. |
 |
Participate in Spay Day USA by
providing spay/neuter funds, traps, transportation, and help to
distribute a list of local veterinarians who lower their prices for this annual campaign
to get as many animals spayed and neutered as possible. We network with other local humane
groups to speak before our County Board of Supervisors and City Councils to request
additional funding for countywide spay/neuter assistance. |

In the future, as we
expand, we hope to add grooming, boarding, dog obedience classes, pet
first aid classes and more. |
